I’m Peter Shaw, the proud co-owner of Transportabuilt Ltd. My journey in the building industry began in the small town of Taupiri, just outside Hamilton. Growing up as a third-generation student at Taupiri Primary, I discovered my passion for working with wood during manual classes. The thrill of designing and crafting something with my own hands ignited a fire in me that has only grown over the years.
After completing my education at Hamilton Boys High School, I pursued a pre-trade carpentry course at Waikato Polytechnic, which led to an apprenticeship with SB Joynes Builders. Under the mentorship of a perfectionist, I honed my skills on a diverse range of projects, from renovations to high-end architectural homes. My journey took me to London, where I worked on a prestigious renovation in Knightsbridge, learning the importance of precision and quality in every detail.
On July 1st, 2019, I took the leap alongside Reece Croasdale and established Transportabuilt Ltd, driven to create transportable homes that stand the test of time. Over the past five years, we have had the privilege of completing numerous projects across Waikato and surrounding districts, always striving for excellence and ensuring that every build reflects our commitment to quality.
At Transportabuilt, we pride ourselves on our meticulous quality control checklist and collaborative approach, including weekly toolbox meetings to keep our team aligned and focused. We specialise in new transportable homes and offices, catering to semi-retired individuals, farmers, and young families looking for a trustworthy builder to bring their vision to life.
What sets us apart is our dedication to quality and the relationships we build with our clients. Communication is key, and I work closely with each client to ensure their needs are met throughout the building process. My clients, like Bruce, Shell, and A & J Hemara, have shared their experiences working with us, highlighting our reliability, attention to detail, and high-quality finishes.

Hi, I’m Reece Croasdale. I proudly own Transportabuilt Ltd alongside Peter Shaw
I met Pete while working for him from 2006 through 2011. During this time, I completed my carpentry apprenticeship. We had a great working and personal relationship, which has been awesome throughout our journey of starting and running Transportabuilt Ltd.
I grew up on a dairy farm and got the opportunity to join a successful farming business after my apprenticeship. My wife and our 3 Children have been farming in Morrinsville since then.
When we can, we love to get out to the lakes for water skiing, go to some of the excellent mountain bike parks around the Waikato and Bay of Plenty as a family and get out on the water to do some fishing.
I feel very lucky to be involved in my other passion, building and construction. I love being able to work with clients from the very beginning of a project through to handing the keys over and bringing them on the journey through the build. The biggest thrill for us is seeing our clients so happy after we have built their project on budget and on time.
We work with homeowners, farmers, and batch owners, as well as those in suburban areas, to provide flexible housing solutions that fit any location and purpose. Since 2018, we’ve been committed to providing New Zealanders with high-quality, movable homes that suit a range of needs and lifestyles.
